Harald Small was elected to Norecopa's Board on 24 March 2013. He trained as a veterinary surgeon at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science, from which he graduated in 1985. He har worked mostly in small animal practice, and opened his own clinic in the municipality of Ski in 1992. He is a certified specialist in small animal diseases of dogs and cats. He is also a Board Member of the local veterinary association for Oslo and Akershus district, and is a member of the Veterinary Association's committee for the certification of small animal clinics. He has been a Board Member of the Norwegian Animal Welfare Association (Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge) since 2010 and is Head of the Board of their Fund for Alternative Research. Harald Small is concerned about good animal welfare and wants strict rules for the use of animals in research, so that numbers are kept to an absolute minimum.
