Susanna Thee Heggli
Susanna Thee Heggli (previously Lybæk) is a zoologist, educated at the Universities of Southampton and Oslo, with a focus on behaviour and ecology. Part of her education was within marine biology and was undertaken at the National Oceanography Centre in Great Britain. Her studies have given her experience within both laboratory studies and field research, with great emphasis on the 3Rs.
Susanna was deputy member of the Norwegian Animal Research Authority from 2013 to 2015, and is now a member of the National Committee for the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific Purposes. She has been employed as scientific advisor at the Norwegian Animal Protection Alliance since 2010, with responsibility for, among other areas, aquaculture, animal research and wild animals. In addition, she teaches Laboratory Animal Science at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). She is concerned about good scientific quality, openness and increased use of the 3Rs.
