The rabbit silicone ear is a new training device for practising blood sampling and intravenous injection techniques in rabbit ear veins and arteries. In rabbits, blood samples are often taken and injections given via veins and arteries in the ear. This device is produced to offer a training simulator to avoid pain, stress and swelling (haematoma) in the ear of a live rabbit, and to avoid discomfort for the trainee. The handmade silicone simulator corresponds to the natural rabbit ear in shape and size. The tubes in the ear simulate blood vessels and respond like bloodvessels to resistance during needle injection and blood withdrawal. The blood flow and pressure can be simulated and controlled manually via the connected syringes. The injection holes can be refilled and repaired several times. This product allows hands-on training.
