Scand-LAS 2002: An invitation / en invitasjon

Dear Colleagues,

Scand-LAS Norge and Norsk Dyretekniker Forening (NDTF) are privileged to host the 32nd Scand-LAS Symposium at Gardermoen, Oslo from 18th to 21st April 2002. The theme for this Symposium is "Uniting Science and the Three R's". Our goals for this Symposium are three-fold:

to give those working in the field of laboratory animal science an excellent opportunity to meet and discuss the state of the art
to give scientists performing research on animals a better insight into the many considerations that need to be taken when planning animal experiments
to improve understanding and cooperation between scientists and laboratory animal units, raising standards and improving animal welfare

As usual the programme will include invited lectures, with sufficient time for discussion, poster presentations and social events. Those of you who participated in the Scand-LAS Symposium at Lillehammer in 1998 will instantly feel at home at this year's venue, the Clarion Oslo Airport Hotel at Gardermoen. The hotel is built in the same style, but is a larger conference hotel and includes an extensive indoor bathing complex. The hotel is located approximately 3 km from the terminal building at Oslo airport. Frequent express trains link the airport with the city of Oslo, 19 minutes away. We believe that we have found a central venue with easy access, providing modern facilities and excellent service in a comfortable atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you at Gardermoen in April!

Scand-LAS Norge og Norsk Dyretekniker Forening (NDTF) har gleden av å invitere til det 32. Scand-LAS symposiet på Gardermoen, Oslo i tiden 18. - 21. april 2002. Vårt mål er å arrangere et symposium med høy faglig standard. Vi har gitt symposiet temaet "Vitenskap forenet med de tre R'ene", for å sette fokus på behovet for samarbeid mellom forskere og dyreavdelingens stab. Som vanlig vil programmet inneholde parallelle sesjoner for teknikere, med god tid for diskusjon, posterpresentasjoner og sosiale arrangementer. De som deltok på Scand-LAS symposiet på Hafjell i 1998, vil nok straks kjenne seg igjen på Gardermoen. Clarion Oslo Airport Hotel er bygd i samme stil, med bedre konferansefasiliteter og et stort badeland. Hotellet ligger ca. 3 km fra terminalbygget på flyplassen. Høyhastighetstoget til Oslo sentrum bruker bare 19 minutter på turen. Vi mener at vi har funnet et sentralt sted, med moderne fasiliteter og fremragende service i en behagelig atmosfære. Vi gleder oss til å treffe dere på Gardermoen i april!
