This Third Edition was a manual for all those that work or plan to work with animals. It covered all aspects of animal care, and sought to improve animal welfare through best practice and refinement of traditional animal care techniques. The authors dealt with principles applicable to all species, including training licensees, regulatory refinement, euthanasia, laboratory animal husbandry, anaesthesia, and surgery. The authors devoted specific sections to biology and husbandry, and also covered large and small lab animals, birds, amphibians, and wild species.
