3R-SMART is an information and training platform on alternative and complementary methods to animal testing based in Marburg, Germany.
3R SMART is aimed at both interested lay people and also scientists and technical personnel. The acronym 3Rs SMART stands for 3Rs training platform for methodological approaches to reduce animal experiments.
The 3R SMART platform addresses possible alternatives to animal experiments in particular and also addresses the legal and ethical aspects of working with laboratory animals. The information is tailored to different needs, providing either a quick overview or more in-depth information in the form of video or text content. The alternatives presented include both validated methods and also novel approaches. In addition, various 3R centres from Germany and Europe are presented.
Furthermore, 3R-SMART supports the 3R research activities of various stakeholders by enabling them to present their latest 3R findings on 3R-SMART in order to increase the reach of their research results.
If you are also interested in presenting your 3R research activities on 3R-SMART, please contact admin@3r-smart.de.
The project is financed by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and is coordinated and built up by the Foundation University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover and the Philipps University of Marburg.
