The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) issued guidelines in 2009 (reformatted in March 2011) on the care and use of farm animals in research, teaching and testing. Additional resources covering implementation and frequently asked questions are available.
Topics covered include ethical considerations, regulations, facilities, facility management, acquisition, transport, quarantine, husbandry, human safety, teaching, specialised procedures, species-specific considerations, literature references and organisations.
The CCAC publishes a large range of general and specific guidelines.
