Description: Glands 1.4 is an independent study courseware that, through schematic illustrations, demonstrates the morphology of glands as seen in tissue sections under a microscope. The program is presented in two sections: TUTORIAL and QUIZ. In the Tutorial section, the information about each major type of gland is presented from the following perspectives: a) general characteristics b) macroscopic/microscopic pictorial views in longitudinal section c) microscopic pictorial views of cross and oblique sections d) summary of main features. In the Quiz section, profiles of glands are presented as they would appear in a microscopic tissue section. The student is given six options from which to select the correct response. Feedback is provided by: score achieved (% correct); highlighting of correct response; acknowledgement message for correct response; short explanation for incorrect response.
