Northern Crested Caracara Skull

Northern Crested Caracara Skull (Caracara cheriway), Also known as the Mexican Eagle, Mexican Buzzard, and Audubon's Caracara, this unusual falcon has striking long yellow legs, black body and cap, white neck, naked reddish facial skin (cere), and a blue-gray heavy, hooked beak. It is a large falcon about the size of an osprey. This bird's range is the American tropics from the southern US border through Mexico and Cuba to Panama where they inhabit primarily open countryside.
