Simendo Simulators

Simendo is a virtual reality simulator for teaching trainee surgeons the basic skills that are required to perform key-hole surgery.   Simendo is available in two versions, for Laparoscopy and for Arthroscopy.   The Simendo Arthroscopy trainer is especially designed for the training of arthroscopy skills in the knee.  The arthroscopy hardware is equipped with a camera and the instruments are positioned more horizontally.   The instruments are also much smaller than in the laparoscopy version.   The Laparoscopy software includes four courses: Easy; Medium; Hard and Expert.   Every course has around 6 tasks, in total 24 tasks.   The Arthroscopy software has two courses: basic skills and an arthroscopy course with a knee model.   The Simendo software supports a complete validated Training Curriculum, a combined series of exercises, that is also web-enabled.   An advanced scoring module tells the trainee exactly where to improve.   The teacher can easily check on his own computer if the trainee finished the curriculum successfully and gets a clear indication about the development of the motorical skills of the trainee.   The Simendo provides the trainee with a licence of approval for the fundamental basic skills.
