Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts (ASFA)

ASFA is a database covering the world's literature on the science, technology, management, and conservation of marine, brackish water, and freshwater resources and environments, including their socio-economic and legal aspects.
ASFA is a database of more than 1.7 million records covering the world's literature on the science, technology, management, and conservation of marine, brackish water, and freshwater resources and environments, including their socio-economic and legal aspects.

It is produced by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations with an international network of co-operating institutions and organisations.

Each bibliographic reference includes: the title of the document in its original language (all non-English titles are also translated into English), an English and/or non-English language abstract, full-text links and subject, taxonomic and geographic index entries as relevant.

The scope of ASFA includes all aspects of the Aquatic Environment:

It is a good source of information on anaesthesia and restraint of fish, marine mammals, and other aquatic species in a captive setting or wildlife studies. It also has more than 7,000 records on zebrafish.
