The 3Rs Collaborative (3RsC) is a 501©3 nonprofit organisation whose mission is to advance science, innovation, and research animal welfare. Until May 2023 it was called the North American 3Rs Collaborative (NA3RsC).
The Collaborative facilitates opportunities to refine, reduce, and replace animals in research. It ams to grow partnerships between academics, pharmaceutical companies, vendors, technology providers, contract research organisations, government organisations, regulatory agents, and other non-profits. This diversity is reflected in its organisational leadership. Such partnerships are essential for the development and implementation of the 3Rs. The Collaborative aims to be a leading authority on the 3Rs in North America and globally.
This organisation facilitates key collaborative initiatives for meaningful 3Rs impacts. Each initiative stimulates research, education, and interaction between stakeholders with the overarching goal of accelerating the adoption of key 3Rs approaches. Currently, those initiatives are centered around translational digital biomarkers, microphysiological systems, rodent health monitoring, refinement, compassion fatigue resiliency, and creation of a 3Rs certification course.
The 3RsC website includes a series of relatively brief, high-level resource pages on the 3Rs including compassion fatigue, rodent health monitoring, and species-specific pages.
