Description: | The objective of this 2-week intensive course in laboratory animal science is to present basic facts and principles that are essential for the human use and care of animals and for the quality of research. The content of the course is in line with recommendations of the Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations (FELASA) regarding the training of the (young) scientist whose research involves the use of vertrebrate animals. |

The objective of the course is to present basic facts and principles that are essential for the humane use and care of animals and for the quality of research. From the beginning of the course emphasis is placed on the facts that the scientist is the central person in the design and performance of animal experiments and that he/she has specific responsiblities with respect to the welfare of the animals used. |

When you successfully complete the basic course with the integrated species-specific course rodents and rabbit you will be competent to design procedures and projects and to execute simple procedures on these animals. |
