Computer animation shows what is inside a typical animal cell, including the cell membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, nucleus, mitochondria, lysosomes and Golgi bodies, The videofilm explains the major differences between animal cells and plant cells, and describes simply how photosynthesis takes place in chloroplasts. It then shows how different cells have specialized architectures that help perform certain tasks. Examples include root and xylem cells, skin cells, nerve cells, muscle cells, bone cells, red blood cells and white blood cells. Includes a teacher’s guide.
