Description: Isolated Heart Laboratory (IHL) is a software simulation that explores the pressure-volume relationships found in hearts in a variety of physiological states. The IHL simulation allows the student to explore how the ventricle of the heart performs as a blood pump and how changes in the physiological environment can alter its performance. By manipulating the variables that affect the performance of the heart, students can design experiments to investigate a variety of questions.
