The 3R Competence Network NRW creates and promotes 3R centers in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany, to specifically promote research, innovation and training in the 3R area. In doing so, the Network directly involves the local network of animal welfare officers.
The Network's goal is: medical progress in harmony with the best possible animal welfare.
All eight partner sites contribute to the network with their respective focal points and in this way create new synergies among themselves.
Another related goal is the promotion, coordination and intensification of direct communication channels at the individual locations and with the authorities (LANUV, veterinary offices) and the Society for Laboratory Animal Science (GV-SOLAS).
The Network collaborates with other 3R Centres and Networks in Germany.
The Network's office is in Bonn, with a partner site office in Aachen.
