This course provides you with knowledge and techniques to identify and avoid cell culture problems such as slow cell growth, reduced survival after thawing, and contaminations. You will be introduced to documentation and standardization methods as tools to optimize cell culturing. During the practical section, we will analyze the effects of the most common mistakes in routine cell culture, e.g., incorrect protocols and optimal freezing, thawing, and subcultivating cells, as well as mistakes resulting from the mishandling of cell culture media. Furthermore, you will be trained to early recognize contaminations and to avoid them by adopting certain standard procedures.
