Belly Case

This product provides surgical trainees with a platform for deliberate practice of open gastrointestinal operative skills. The Belly Case is designed specifically to address the hands-on training in anastomisis and ostomy suturing in the abdominal cavity. This product may be used with 3mm Vessels (Items 1086 and 1127) and 4mm Vessel (Item 1128) for small vessel anastomosis. For bowel and vessel anastomoses and ostomies, the anatomy may be filled with fluid or air via a mating luer lock on the supporting stand to test for "haemostasis". Suturing may be preserved and presented to mentoring faculty for review and progress assessment. The Belly Case consists of a compact abdomen including the pertinent adult anatomy of a midline incision (7 x 5 inches) and an alternate abdominal wall with dual ostomy sites without the bulk or expense of a full abdomen. Users get suturing experience by using the Tactility Bowel (Item 2126) within the constraints of the abdomen. The Belly Case includes: Suitcase Abdomen; Midline Incision Bib with Abdominal Incisions (7 x 5 inches); Ostomy Bib with dual Ostomy Perforations; Positionable Arm; Bowel and Small Vessel anastomosis Stand with Patency Assessment Capability; Syringe for Patency Assessment; Vessel Stabilising Clip; Carrying Case.
