The CAE Apollo simulator (previously the METIman) is a full scale, fully interactive life-like mannikin physically representing the patient, that meets the needs of medical educators and students in many different health care professions. Both clinical features (such as palpable pulses, self-regulating control of breathing, and heart and lung sounds) and monitored parameters (such as the electro-cardiogram and pulmonary artery catheter) bring the patient to life. Sophisticated physiological models of the body systems simulate normal and pathophysiological responses to drugs, mechanical ventilation, and other medical therapies. Self-regulating lung model with physiological gas exchange; hand-held instructors remote control; pulmonary artery catheter and thermodilution cardiac output; automated drug recognition system; and difficult airway module.
