Canine Arthroscopy Stifle is designed to provide veterinarians and students with a realistic and immersive training experience in performing stifle arthroscopy procedures on canine patients. The model is derived from a CT scan of the left hind limb of a medium sized dog. The model includes the CCL, LCL, MCL, Meniscus, Patellar Tendon, tendon of long digital extensor, patella, and fat pad in a replaceable sealed capsule that can be used with fluid.
Users are able to use all forms of arthroscopic equipment, without damaging the model more than a real stifle. The ability to practice realistic arthroscopy without the need of cadavers. The femur and tibia are 3D printed in resin to increase longevity, and is anchored to a based at the proximal end of the femur. The joint space can show different diseases/pathological issues, meniscal tears, OCD, CCL tears, and more.
It offers an opportunity to develop and refine the essential skills required for successful canine stifle arthroscopy, empowering practitioners to deliver superior care to their animal patients.
Key Features:
- Lifelike Canine Stifle Anatomy: Replicates the complex anatomy of the canine stifle joint, including the femur, tibia, patella, ligaments, and surrounding structures. Every detail has been meticulously crafted to provide an authentic training environment, allowing users to practice arthroscopic techniques with precision and confidence.
- Realistic Joint Range of Motion: It offers a realistic range of motion, allowing users to simulate the movement and instability commonly encountered in canine stifle joints. Practitioners can practice navigating through the joint space, manipulating instruments, and addressing various pathologies, improving their procedural skills and familiarity with different clinical scenarios.
- Use of Real Instrumentation:Can be used with any standard arthroscopy equipment- biters, shavers, and arthroscopes- and the ability to run fluid through the joint. Users can hone their hand-eye coordination and develop proficiency in instrument handling.
- Pathology Simulation: The model incorporates simulated pathologies commonly observed in canine stifle joints, such as meniscal tears, cruciate ligament injuries, and osteochondritis dissecans. This allows practitioners to practice identification, evaluation, and treatment of these conditions, enhancing their diagnostic and therapeutic skills in a controlled and safe environment.
- Durable and Portable Design: Crafted with durability and portability in mind. The compact and lightweight design allows for easy transportation, making it suitable for use in veterinary schools, clinics, and workshops. Replacement joint capsules are available to elongate the models usable lifetime.
