Somso Comprehensive Starfish Model

This three-dimensional model can be picked up, turned over and examined from all sides. The model is detailed and provides students with four different views of one specimen. Three arms (dissected at different levels) and the central disc of the greatly enlarged Asterias are dissected to show ventral and dorsal surfaces, digestive and water vascular systems, gonads, nerve ring and radial nerves, and the skeleton. A fourth arm is cross-sectioned to show the coelom and tube feet. The surface illustrates the podia and pedicellariae. Includes 24 keyed items.

Made of unbreakable material. Measures 31 x 53 x 35 cm. Removable from the stand with base. Somso model.
