Description: The Moving Cell is an interactive program which demonstrates how the cell membrane functions utilizing 3D models and animations to accomplish this.   The program was created with Macromedia Director 6.0 with input and guidance from UT physiologist Dr. Colin Budd.   The program includes 3D animations and movies showing cell membrane structure, osmosis, and transport, along with actual live images of cells taken through a microscope.   There are also digital audio narrations which explain the content of each section being observed.   Samples from the program are: Main Screen (75K); Question Screen (69K); Membrane Composition (79K); Facilitated Diffusion (78K); Bulk Flow (72K); Active Transport (71K); Lipidout Movie (590K); and Protein Movie (508K).
