Description: This video film starts with an explanation of the experimental procedure, partly by means of animations. A beating heart is then removed from the thorax and perfused with adrenaline, acetylcholine and a calcium antagonist (Verapamil). Changes in contractility and heart rate are registered as curves and discussed. Finally, the sinus node (primary pacemaker) is cooled down and typical effects following this are demonstrated.
