The Giant Regional Brain features nine lobes and regions of the brain, coloured with different colours and hand-labelled (in English, French or German). The lobes and regions are as follows: Frontal lobe (pink); Parietal lobe (lavender); Occipital lobe (green); Temporal lobe (yellow); Motor cortex (bright red); Somatosensory cortex (deep purple); Limbic cortex (orange); Cerebellum (ivory); and Brain stem (white). All twelve cranial nerves are coded with standard sequential Roman numeral notation. Once removed from its base, the brain may be dissected into four pieces. More than 120 additional features, hand numbered on the brain, are identified in the accompanying key. A display stand cradles the brain in an upright position on an elliptical hardware base.
