This book provides the reader with the drawings of the completely new set of coronal sections, now from one rat, and with improved resolution by adding a third additional section level as compared to earlier editions. Numerous new nuclei and structures have been identified. The drawings are presented in two colours, providing a better contrast and the accompanying CD-ROM contains all the drawings from the atlas as well as the corresponding colour micrographs (which are not included in the book).
Features: 161 coronal diagrams based on a single brain; Delineations drawn entirely new from a new set of sections; Diagrams spaced at constant 120µm intervals resulting in the high resolution; Drawings use blue colour lines and black labels to facilitate extraction of information; The stereotaxic grid was derived using the same techniques that produced the widely praised stereotaxic grid of the previous editions; More than 100 structures are identified, a number for the first time in this edition.
Fifth Edition. 209 pages. Spiral Bound. Published by Academic Press, now part of Elsevier. Suitable for all students and scientists who study the rat brain and for graduate students in neuroscience, neuroanatomy, neurology and pathology. See record numbers 6772 (Third edition) and 6757 (Deluxe Fourth Edition).
