The UK Government has issued advice on the use, keeping alive and re-use of animals under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986. It also provides advice on the criteria that must be satisfied to keep animals alive at the end of a series of regulated procedures.
Since this Act has been revised in order to transpose the EU Directive 2010/63, this advice is of interest to other European countries also.
The advice can be downloaded here. Version 1, October 2015, 21 pages.
