Journal of AOAC International

Publishes the latest in basic and applied research in the analytical sciences related to foods, drugs, agriculture, and the environment. From the Association of Analytical Chemists International.

The Journal of AOAC International is produced by the Association of Analytical Chemists International. It publishes refereed articles in the fields of chemical and micro biological analysis:

  • original research on new techniques and applications,
  • validation studies,
  • studies leading to method development,
  • meeting symposia,
  • newly adopted AOAC approved methods, and
  • invited reviews.

It also includes standards and validation studies from AOAC communities and contracts with industry and government on:

  • infant formula and adult nutritionals,
  • vitamins, flavonols, and antioxidant activity in foods,
  • heavy metals,
  • dietary supplements,
  • drug residues in animal tissues, and
  • biological threat agents.

The journal is a good source of information on the development of alternative testing strategies to replace animal bioassays.

Abstracts are available for all articles but full access requires a subscription. Some articles are available for free through open-access.
