Owner/Developer: Microsurgical Developments Foundation (MD)
supported by the Dutch government and international industries like Solvay Plastics and Pharmaceuticals.
Practicing microsurgical techniques on the MD PVC-rat or studying the anatomy of the rat using the anatomical model of the rat can reduce the number of animals needed in for example (bio) medical schools or universities drastically.
The unique combination of manuals, films and models helps to achieve reduction, replacement and refinement of animal based experiments (acc. to Russell and Burch 1974).
