Several centres fund this work and/or provide lists of funders:

- Funding schemes from the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research, UK (NC3Rs)
- Funding schemes from the French Center for the 3Rs (FC3R)

- List of funding opportunities compiled by the 3Rs Collaborative
- Danish 3R-Center (DKK 1.5 million per year)
- Grants from the Swedish Fund for Research Without Animal Experiments (Forska Utan Djurförsök)
- Annual Open Grants from the Alternatives Research and Development Foundation (ARDF)
- More Knowledge with Fewer Animals - a programme from ZonMW, an independent Dutch government body
- Replacing Animal Research (formerly FRAME) funds the FRAME Laboratory, Summer Studentship Awards, an Innovation Grant Scheme and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (Grant funding policy).
- Funding from Stichting Proefdiervrij (Dutch Foundation for the Replacement of Animal Testing), The Hague
