This simulator is designed by veterinary educators using innovative technologies. The canine leg is anatomically correct and provides students with a venipuncture and vascular access training simulator. The leg is fully extended. Students can better control the leg and simulate tourniquet placement. The leg has a cephalic vein segment. Students can practise: Blood collection; Catheter insertion (18 gauge or smaller): IV catheter; Butterfly catheter. Repetitive use of this simulator will help students develop the skills and confidence necessary before vascular access on live animals. Components included: Canine Leg Model; Skin and Vein Segments; IV Bag with Blood Powder; Instruction Sheet.
Washable. Made of high quality silicone (skin) with durable vein segments. The vein tolerates up to 100 needle sticks with 22 gauge needles. No latex or fur allergy. Easy replacement skin and vein segments are available.
