This video demonstrates cephalic intravenous catheter placement in a dog. It starts with preparation of the equipment and then shows how to identify the vein, how to shave the leg, how to stabilise the vein and how to insert the catheter in the vein.  Having made sure that the catheter is placed correctly in the vein, the vein is flushed with heparin and the catheter is secured with tapes.
