The following experiments are performed, during which ECG, heart rate and blood pressure are recorded: 1) clamping of the carotids; 2) electrical stimulation of the vagus nerve; 3) I.v. injection of acetylcholine, adrenaline and a calcium antagonist (Verapamil).
