DPortrayal of the eyeball within its bony socket includes the 6 muscles of movement, major blood vessels and nerves. The largest eye model in production, 6 times life-size, separating into a total of 8 parts. Makes it easy to study details not even included on other models. Trace the flow of tears from the lacrimal gland into the entrance of the lacrimal duct. It is easy to comprehend eye movements because all six muscles are present in their entirety. Both the superior and lateral rectus muscles detach. The upper half of the eyeball lifts off. The cornea and iris lift out as a unit. The optic nerve also detaches. Extract the lucite lens and the user can demonstrate how it magnifies and inverts images. Sight through the transparent vitreous body, the fovea centralis (the region of acute colour vision) can be seen on the retina. The vitreous body can be lifted out for full view of the choroid coat, retina, optic disc or blind spot, and a schematic cross section through retinal layers (19 different details). 77 hand-numbered features are identified in the accompanying 8-page manual.
