After studying this video film the user should be able to: Explain why heart cannulation is the ideal method for frequent blood sampling; Describe the various steps that can be distinguished in this operation; Outline the critical moments in such an operation. A serious disadvantage of conventional methods of blood sampling is that they induce changes in the hormonal balance because the animal is subjected to stress.
