The National Library of Medicine is the world´s largest medical library.

Description: The National Library of Medicine is the world’s largest medical library. The NLM collects medical books, periodicals, proceedings, audiovisuals, and other materials in the major areas of the health sciences, including veterinary medicine and laboratory animal welfare, and provides reference services. The Library produces Index Medicus, a comprehensive monthly listing of articles appearing in the world’s leading medical journals. NLM also operates a computerized Index Medicus, known as MEDLINE, and has pioneered the introduction of large medical bibliographic databases. Part of the National Institutes of Health.
