This is an anatomically correct simulator of a female baby, developed for teaching and practising vascular accessing of newborns and infants. Features: Access the median basilic and axillary veins on the right and left arm; Right leg: saphenous and popliteal veins; Neck and head: external jugular and temporal (scalp) veins; Realistic back-flow of artificial blood confirms needle location in the vein; Lifelike umbilicus allows repeated catheterisation of the umbilical vein, with proper placement verified by a blood return; Nasal and oral openings allow placement of nasal cannulas, as well as endotracheal, nasogastric, and feeding tubes to teach accessing, suctioning, securing, dressing, cleansing, site care and maintenance for standard venepuncture, central catheters, PICC lines and umbilical catheters. Nita Newborn includes a flexible body, fluid bag with attached tubing, simulated blood, diaper and soft carrying case.
