Description: REMOTE is an interactive "Patient Monitoring System", designed to teach students patient monitoring skills during anaesthesia, using the rat as a model. This software was designed to be used in combination with the MD-PVC-Rat, but can also be used independently. The program will, depending on the experience of the students, generate situations in which the students must act to save the animal's life. During surgery, anaesthesia can be administered, the animal's temperature and breathing can be observed and controlled. When starting the program, the student can adjust his own experimental setting, including session data, weight and sex of the animal, type, location and duration of surgery. A screen demonstrates all parameters such as respiration, reflexes, temperature, anaesthetic information and an ECG diagram. When the exercise is finished, the student is presented with a full report generated by the software, that helps him to review every event and status of the operation together with the instructor. The data can also be saved and the student can design a new experiment. Please note: The CD-ROM is used for installation purposes only. The program does not run from the CD-ROM, nor does it need the CD during execution. Please click here for more information on this CD.
