Description: Spatt is commonly seen in trotting horses. The film begins with an explanation of the two types of Spatt that occur in horses. A clinical examination and the differentiation between the two types are shown. Then the surgery of intra-articular spatt with drilling of the hockjoint is demonstrated. The film shows how the veterinary surgeon decides where to drill using X-rays. The operation is performed under general anaesthesia and the need for aseptic conditions is underlined.
