The images in The Sheep Brain Dissection Guide are from original DOS software developed for the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Program at The University of Scranton. The images have clickable labels and comprehensive dissection instructions and self-test options. The user can choose between several options when proceeding through this guide. During the progression, the user will see the image of the brain being dissected in one window. The window to the right will hold the dissection instructions or the details on a particular structure of interest. The window in the lower right holds the options buttons. There are four buttons: the user can choose between going forwards and backwords by clicking on arrows that point in the right direction; the third button is an options button. This button takes the user to a page of options where there is a choice between: search by name of structure; search by plate number; view fully labelled images (the default); pause before labelling images (to quiz oneself); random plate selection (also to test oneself). The fourth button is a button where the user can toggle between labelled and unlabelled images. Many of the images contain brackets, used to designate an area or region of the brain. Brackets or lines which end in small circles designate hollow structures.
