Vetiqo - "Weany"

Various invasive interventions on running pigs can be practically trained with Weany - from taking blood from the vena cava to intracardiac injection. With the interchangeable training modules, Weany enables the practical simulation of fundamental invasive interventions on running pigs. With its skin-like surface and a weight of 9 kg, it gives the impression of a lifelike pig not only visually but also haptically. Thanks to the integrated hip and shoulder joints, Weany can be fixed in different positions and the handling during the various interventions can be simulated.

Blood collection and intracardiac injection can be practiced lifelike with the interchangeable modules. The blood collection from the vena cava can be carried out with a conventional cannula as well as with vacuum systems on the IV module in the throttle groove. In addition to a puncturable heart chamber, the ic module also has palpable ribs so that the correct puncture site can be localized using anatomical points. An integrated tube system connects the iv module and the ic module with the blood reservoir and enables blood to be aspirated if the cannula is correctly positioned.

The training of an IM injection in the neck muscles can be simulated on the integrated module.

Surgical castration can be carried out step by step using the integrated castration module. After cutting through the outer skin, the testicles can be located, relocated, and castrated covered or uncovered. Testicles, epididymis and spermatic cords are shown in great detail.

After successful use, the modules can be changed in just a few simple steps and Weany is ready for the next use.
