CAM Scientific Network (CAMSCiNet)

The CAM Scientific Network brings together partners who work with, or are interested in, the chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) model of the chick embryo.

At the 2nd International CAM Conference (Erlangen, Germany, 2024), participants recognized the need to establish the CAM Scientific Network, bringing together partners who work with, or are interested in, the chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) model of the chick embryo. CAM is a valuable 3Rs-compliant alternative to animal experiments, providing a cost- and time-efficient in vivo platform for studies in cancer, angiogenesis, biomaterials and drug development, among others.

Despite its broad potential, the CAM community remains fragmented and global awareness of the model’s potential is still limited. CAMSciNet aims to improve this situation.

As a first step, researchers, companies, policymakers, current users, and potential future users are invited to join a dedicated mailing list.

This will serve primarily to share information about resources and events, such as the 3rd International CAM Meeting (Liverpool, UK, June 2026).

This initiative marks the beginning of a collaborative effort to connect the CAM community, foster joint consortium applications, and promote the sharing of resources, protocols, and expertise, in line with the 3Rs principles.
