The National Mouse Archive (NMA) is hosted by the Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell, UK, and offers an archiving and distribution service for mouse strains.
To encourage collaboration and sharing of resources, the NMA offers free cryopreservation of strains that can be made publicly available, subject to an optional 2 year grace period. The Archive acts as the UK node for the European Mouse Mutant Archive (EMMA) operated by the INFRAFRONTIER research infrastructure, in which MRC Harwell is a long-term partner.
The National Mouse Archive was originally known as the Frozen Embryo and Sperm Archive (FESA).
