The Working Group of Berlin Animal Welfare Officers is a forum for discussion and the dissemination of information related to the three Rs. The Group collects and develops guidelines within this area. It aims to inform both scientists and regulators.
The Group has published Guidelines on evaluating the stress factors for laboratory animals during animal experiments. The guidelines were last updated on 21 September 2010 and should therefore be revised, so at present they are only available in German. The Group welcomes feedback on this document.
Several of the Working Group are co-authors of a paper entitled Guidelines on severity assessment and classification of genetically altered mouse and rat lines, published in Laboratory Animals in 2017.
