Description: | - the 56h face to face training comprises all topics required by the French legislation : • Ethics and legislation, project design in accordance with 3Rs (including alternatives, statistics, ARRIVE guidelines and SYRCLE), ethology/animal welfare, husbandry and health monitoring of laboratory animals, biology (including comparative anatomy, chronobiology and genetics of rodents), pain recognition and alleviation, anaesthesia, analgesia, endpoints and humane killing - the 24h eLearning enables personal work, to adapt to the trainee's needs and previous knowledge. The audience is kept below 35 people to enable good interactions between trainees and with the teachers. The teaching team is experienced and motivated and includes researchers and veterinary specialists in LAS. |

The training focuses on rodents and species used in preclinical studies but can be adapted for users of other domestic or wild species (supervised personal work). It aims to: understand and apply the regulatory and ethical framework for the use of animals, be comfortable with the project authorization and ethical review process design a project taking into account the scientific and technical recommendations: reasoned choice of the species and taking into account peculiarities (including genetic and sanitary aspects), experimental design and variation factors, methods (pain prevention, anesthesia- analgesia, use of endpoints and killing). take into account the biology and the behaviour to ensure the well-being of the animals and to carry out technical gestures of administration and adapted samples (including a small practical part with rats and mice) The lessons include a large part of tutorials and exchanges between trainees and with the speakers.
