The training focuses on rodents and species used in preclinical studies but can be adapted for users of other domestic or wild species (supervised personal work).
It aims to:
understand and apply the regulatory and ethical framework for the use of animals, be comfortable with the project authorization and ethical review process
design a project taking into account the scientific and technical recommendations: reasoned choice of the species and taking into account peculiarities (including genetic and sanitary aspects), experimental design and variation factors, methods (pain prevention, anesthesia- analgesia, use of endpoints and killing).
take into account the biology and the behaviour to ensure the well-being of the animals and to carry out technical gestures of administration and adapted samples (including a small practical part with rats and mice)
The lessons include a large part of tutorials and exchanges between trainees and with the speakers.
