The skulls can safely be passed around the classroom for closer examination and comparison of different structures between male and female gorillas (Gorilla gorilla). Note the smaller overall size, and size of central crest and brow ridges of the female gorilla skull compared to the male gorilla skull. Removable lower jaw is spring-held on both skulls.
