The Virtual Pharmacology Lab repository was designed to provide undergraduate teachers of pharmacology and related subjects with access to a wide range of electronic resources for teaching.

It provided resources from a range of simulations of laboratory experiments involving isolated tissue preparations, in vivo animal preparations and some human experiments.

Resources included:

  • data traces of the effects of a wide range of pharmacological agents administered either alone or in combination with other agents
  • animations, images and textual descriptions of the preparations, the experimental methods, and the underlying physiology, pharmacology and pathology

This project was developed by Dr. David Dewhurst at the University of Edinburgh.

The project has now been terminated since most of the items were built to run under Flash. Please click here for a list of Dr. Dewhurst's other resources.
