This cartilaginous skeleton of a saltwater dogfish is suitable for teaching the skeletal anatomy of fish. It is fully cleaned and prepared. The cartilage skeleton displays the details of the chondrocranium and gill arches, fins and axial skeleton. The skeleton is mounted on a clear plate so both dorsal and ventral surfaces can be studied, and the pelvic fins are mounted separately to make them easier to view. The mount includes a key that features drawings of separate skeletal elements and identifies 76 structures.
