ecopa (European Consensus-Platform on Alternatives) aims to bring together all four stakeholders involved in animal research: regulators, academia, industry and animal welfare organisations. It supports the establishment of National Consensus Platforms (NCPs) which involve all these 4 stakeholders.
Currently, the following European countries have NCPs which are full members of ecopa:
- 3RCC (Switzerland)
- Fincopa (Finland)
- Francopa (INERIS) (France)
- IPAM (Italy)
- Norecopa (Norway)
- REMA (Spain)
- The SET Foundation (Germany)
ROCAM (Romania) and the RepRefRed Society in Austria are Associate Members. ecopa has some personal members in Belgium.
The organisation takes part in research programmes within the EU framework, and expert working groups organised by the European Commission.
