| Description: | As a contribution to the harmonisation of the care and use of animals in research, Norecopa and the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science have produced a number of video films and slide series illustrating basic procedures (handling, injection techniques and blood sampling) on common laboratory animal species. Links to more resources are available at the bottom of this page. Please note that some of the animals were sedated before they were filmed. This was done purely to make it easier to demonstrate the various stages of each technique. Norecopa hosts a website (https://norecopa.no) containing 3R resources, including a collection of approx. 3,500 education and training aids (NORINA database), approx. 1,700 textbooks and other 3R literature (TextBase) and a collection of approx. 340 3R guidelines (3R Guide). In addition, the site contains approx. 600 webpages with links to 3R resources, including the PREPARE guidelines for planning animal experiments (https://norecopa.no/PREPARE). |
